FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMITTEE

1. To provide necessary information and guidance to the faculty members for applying Research Projects sponsored by external agencies such as UGC, AICTE, DST, etc.
2. To motivate the faculty members to apply for externally Sponsored Research Projects.
3. To review the progress of on-going research
4. To take necessary steps so that Annual Progress Reports, Project Completion Reports, Utilization Certificates are submitted regularly to the concerned authority within the stipulated time.
5. To motivate the faculty members to publish the research papers in reputed Peer Reviewed
6. To maintain a record of faculty
7. To promote Institute- R&D Organization- Industry Collaboration
8. To encourage Core Competence and Consultancy work
9. To organize various workshops/ seminar/ trainings related to promotion of research
10. To create awareness about filing Patents & IPR

 

ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES

• To prepare an annual research activity plan for all the departments.
• To establish association with industries and R&D organizations and identify the technological challenges being faced by them and providing solutions with the support of faculty and students.
• To initiate and promote MoU’s with industries and R&D organizations for consultancy, collaborative research, sponsored projects, industry and Institute interactions etc.
• To arrange various sessions like FDP’s / Workshops/ Seminars by eminent personalities from industry, R&D organizations and institutions of repute for the better understanding of research methodology and practices currently followed.
• To support faculty for delivering talks at different events and conducting workshops, training programs, seminars, conferences, symposia and faculty development programs.
• To keep everyone informed about announcements by various funding agencies like DST, SERB, DAE, DRDO, ISRO, CSIR, AICTE, UGC and University etc and to encourage the faculty and students to apply for major and minor research projects.
• To motivate students to present papers in National and International Journals, conferences and projects in competitions and exhibitions like Viswakarma, Jagruthi, E-yantra.
• Interdepartmental collaborative work to be encouraged.
• Explore technological developmental opportunities in emerging and common application areas which are suitable for common man and assign them to faculty and students.
• To encourage the faculty and students regarding Intellectual Property Rights.
• To formulate incentive schemes for promoting research activities with teachers and students/scholars.
• Motivate all Faculties to pursue research in their respective areas of expertise.
