About the Department of Science & Humanities

The Department of Basic sciences and Humanities is the cornerstone of SGIT.

The Department encompasses well qualified, skilled and dedicated faculty members who have always endeavored to provide the best in terms of knowledge and skill in various disciplines like English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

As science and humanities subjects are the foundation subjects for all the branches of engineering, The department mainly focuses to build firm base as a part of engineering education.

The Department has well-equipped and state- of-art laboratories in English, Physics and Chemistry. Communication skills along with a command over English language play a crucial role to enable students to succeed in their academic and professional life.

All the first year students are administrated with parental care through mentorship. Apart from teaching, The Department takes a prominent role to instill leadership qualities, personality development, soft skills etc. through communication club.
